Tobacco-free complex protects community, kids

Schuylkill BUSTED! Teens Kickin´ Nicotine would like to thank the Frackville Recreation Commission for inviting them to be part of their community´s annual National Night Out in August at the Memorial Park Complex.

It was so much fun.We enjoyed handing out tobacco-free literature and face painting the children participants.

That evening, we were able to be part of the official public announcement that Frackville´s Memorial Park Complex is now 100 percent tobacco-free.

We congratulate Mayor Delmar Phillips and members of the Frackville Borough and Recreation Commission for their fine job in protecting their community from the harms of tobacco smoke. This policy not only protects people´s health, but says to kids our age that tobacco use is socially unacceptable, therefore giving them another reason to avoid its use.

Again, thank you for making this issue a priority in your community.
